Many of our new intake are already familiar with Weatherhead. Our induction days and curriculum visits ensure students settle and start learning as soon as they arrive. Senior students help new Year 7 students settle down and find their way around the building. Parents are kept informed of progress and we always ensure there is a Parents’ Evening in October of the first term to give an opportunity to discuss any issues of concern.
Students are provided with planners and homework timetables to help organise their studies. Almost all our girls take part in a club or an activity and are given every opportunity to find something of interest.
At Weatherhead we take great pride in the support available. Each student is allocated to a Form and wherever possible the Form Tutor will remain with the students for five years until the end of Year 11.
We celebrate positive relationships and students are rewarded for their effort and commitment through our excellent rewards system. We are a caring and supportive community in which everyone is valued and respected. We foster students’
self-esteem and self-confidence so as to provide the best possible chance of a mature, informed and healthy life. The Student Services Team has Learning Mentors, a Well-being
Co-ordinator, Attendance Officers, an Education Social Worker and other professionals all dedicated to providing the best for Weatherhead students. The quality of our work in supporting students has been recognised by OFSTED and by the numerous awards of excellence presented to the school.
