Opportunities for students to develop their interests and skills within the Arts are provided through a wide range of extra-curricular experiences including IceRadio, Arts Leaders, Hitting the High Notes and Film Club.
In addition we seek to provide opportunities for students to experience live theatre and dance at the Floral Pavilion, the Everyman & Playhouse, the Royal Exchange, the Lowry and the Liverpool Empire. There are regular Arts trips for Art and Textiles students to galleries in Manchester and London, the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham. The last two years have seen Fine Art students travel to Venice and Paris for inspiration.

The school radio station, IceRadio, goes from strength to strength with a strong team of 12 radio DJs from Years 8, 10 and 12 who meet weekly after school to prepare for live broadcast every Friday lunchtime. Under the guidance of staff, students plan their own shows which are usually themed around assemblies, world events and calendar events. The team also broadcast for a week at the end of the Christmas term, Summer term and on Sports Day. As well as song request songs and shout-outs to friends, the shows include weather updates, publicise local events, debate topics, discuss films and play new and old music.
